Polly's Birthday Boat Parade (Aurorasauras & Artie Bear, Book 27)
Aurorasauras & Artie Bear, Book 27 by Paul Rawly
Polly wants boats for her birthday. "Big boats?" asks her dad, Percy. "Little ones," she says. "Enough for a whole parade!" Peggy sets a wide water tray on the garden table, and the friends arrive with stickers, waxed card, a captain's notebook and a parcel of wooden pegs from Kit.
Soon boats cover the table. Polly draws a sunflower on hers, Pip adds blue spots, Kit chooses a sunny yellow sail, and Artie makes a boat with a very tall chimney. Plop! Artie's boat rolls onto its side, and the paper arch for the parade sags in the middle. With a shorter chimney and Kit's pegs, the problems are solved, and one by one the little boats drift beneath the arch.
A cheerful birthday story about making, problem-solving and sharing, because the best parade has a boat for everyone.
The story is followed by 10 activity pages with story questions, feelings prompts and drawing spaces to share together. For children aged 3 to 7.
